We can’t stop the time from running so fast, that, without our knowing, graduation day is already here and our last second in the Academy together as classmates has finally been over
In our short stay in the Academy, we have been able to establish a strong bonding of friendships and associations within the school. We have met people who have unintentionally touched our lives and brought flames of love to our hearts. It is in this ACADEMY that we have found our peers, con temporaries or even our worst adversaries.
We have shared our precious time with them-talking our happiness, funny experiences, problems and even our pains, frustrations and disappointments. They have offered their shoulders to cry on, lent their ears just to listen to our woes in life.
We have become the “ates” and the “kuyas” to one another. The feeling of being a family has always been there to attend to the needs of one-moral, emotional, and most especially financial.
The bond we have established with our chums has passed a lot of tests through nerve rocking situation and confusing decision making scenarios. There are even times that we have to choose which one to prioritize: study or peers? Sometimes, we have to weigh things over and over of whom TO believe-family or friends? The hardest of all is to choose among your friends with whom you wanted to be with.
Luckily, we have passed the tests of time and overcame all the obstacles that hinder in building strong relationships with our friends. It seemed that we have traversed the widest road and climbed the highest mountain even crossed the wide oceans to be with our barkada, katropa, kapartypeers, or the kaberkz. In short, and collectively speaking, our FRIENDS.
Sad to say. We have to let them go for good, for we have to pursue a higher education to be somebody someday. We may separate our ways and be million miles away but the “samahan” “barkadahan” and friendship will remain. The memories of our PALS, comrades, text mates , and our associates will be cherished forever.
Who knows? Maybe, someday, in an unexpected time and place we might see each other again. Surely, we will be going to our favorite hang-outs and talk about the thens and nows of our lives. Then, we will end up singing our favorite song-”If I have only one friend left, I want it to be you”.
