Sacred Heart Academy of Sta. Maria, Bulacan is an educational institution owned and administered by the stockholders, and members of Board of Directors.
Sacred Heart Academy, as it is known was organized on February 15, 1963 and first operated on July 1963. In the year 1963-1964, classes in first and second year high school started with combined enrolment of 244 students. First year was composed of four sections (A-D) and Second year was composed of two sections (A&B). The batch of 1964-1965 classes in Third year and Fourth year were added to the first two curricula. The first graduation was held in 1964-1965 with 14 graduates. By the year 1973-74, the school opened its Night Secondary Department with only 39 students. This was done to give the working youth a chance to pursue their secondary education.
The construction of the NKED building was completed in 1982. More improvements were made in 1988. These were the school canteen, administrative building, library and laboratory room. In 1989, the computer room was set up for the advancement in technology. The stage was completed in 1992.
The construction of new building started last April 1, 1995. It was finished on October 6, 1995. Construction of Phases I and II were finally completed in School Year 1997-1998. Phase III’s final construction coincided with the Founder’s Day celebration on October 7, 2000.
So far, our enrolment is one of the highest among the private secondary schools in Bulacan.
The Academy has withstood the mushrooming of private schools in both elementary and secondary levels. For school year 2007-2008, the SHA Family has grown to 98 teaching and non-teaching staff.
